Innovative Technology Within Reach: The Urban Proton Therapy System “Phemto®”

B dot Medical has embraced an innovative approach in reshaping proton therapy, overcoming challenges in its installation and operation.

The name "Phemto®" is derived from the unit "femtometer." By utilizing superconducting technology to bend the beam, it has become possible to perform proton therapy with particles as small as a femtometer (10 to the power of -15) using our ultra-compact system. With this small yet powerful system that takes up only a small space, we aim to provide innovative cancer treatment options to many hospitals.
This is our wish behind the name.

Brand name: Proton Beam Irradiation System Phemto

Approval from regulatory authorities in each country is required for clinical use overseas.

Ultra-Compact, High-Performance, and High-Efficiency

B dot Medical has successfully developed a brand-new gantry structure known as the 'Magnetic Gantry™', achieving significant down-sizing in the proton therapy system. This high-performance irradiation system in ground-breaking compact size enables efficient treatments.

Coupled with its compact design and uncompromised performance, our system now makes it possible to bring proton therapy to urban hospitals that previously faced challenges in implementation due to site constraints, expanding the reach of advanced cancer treatments.

Magnetic Gantry™

Traditional proton therapy systems relied on extensive rotating gantries to deliver beams from various angles. In contrast, B dot Medical's innovative approach features the Magnetic Gantry™ and specialized scanning electromagnets, resulting in a substantial reduction in the size of proton therapy equipment.

A Brand-new Gantry Structure Enabling the Ultra-Compact Size

Magnetic Gantry™ is a revolutionary technology that serves as the foundation for our ultra-compact proton therapy system. Distribution electromagnets and polarizing electromagnets within the system work in harmony to create powerful magnetic fields that grant remarkable flexibility in altering beam trajectories. With our system, you can achieve concentrated beam irradiation from various directions without the need for a large rotating gantry.
Our system allows for a nearly 50% reduction in the required construction space for installation, making a significant impact on initial investment and long-term maintenance savings.

Short scanning irradiation

Among the various reasons behind their larger size, conventional systems are required to position the scanning electro magnets far from the treatment table in both vertical and horizontal directions for irradiation formation. To address this problem, B dot Medical developed "short scanning irradiation", a ground breaking technology integrating the two electromagnets of the system and shaping them in a special way, thereby enabling wide beam irradiation over a shorter distance.
