To bring proton therapy to a greater number of patients, what is required? One aspect is to downsize the treatment system, making it more accessible in urban areas. Additionally, to enhance the treatment efficiency per system, B dot Medical has devised a new treatment workflow using the self-propelled* shuttle treatment table 'Throup™.'
It simultaneously reduces the burden on medical staff in the field, compared to the stretcher.
* Patient transport must be always accompanied by medical staff, initiated and fixed at the destination by the operation of medical staff.
Improving Throughput of Treatment Room
Achieving precise radiation beam delivery necessitates a "positioning" process. Traditionally conducted within the treatment room, this process consumed time, impeding treatment efficiency.
Throup seeks to improve treatment room efficiency by performing positioning outside the treatment room and facilitating patient transport through self-propelled movement.
